Snowy D.C.

Meandering downtown through D.C. Lots of photos, especially after the jump.

Epic Snowfall

16″ in Arlington is a lot. Not sure how much is here, but I like thinking it’s two feet of snow.

Snowpocalypse 2k10

Not a flake has dropped in the D.C. area yet hype grips the region as another massive snow storm comes barreling down. Time to panic!

Amidst it all, I find myself laughing in the face of four feet of snow, skeptical that the impending storm will do much of anything. Perhaps I’m reaching back to my days as a primary school student, staking hope in the absence of school thanks to a few inches of snow. Those were the days when you’d wake up at 6am and not a flake was on the ground. Curse you weathermen!

It doesn’t look like they’ll be wrong this time — see map above — and as I write this out the first few flakes are trickling down. The resulting hype from this approaching snow storm has seen movies stripped off the shells at the library and panicky customers at the local grocery stores.

Bring it on. It should be fun.

Photos from Johannesburg

This is long overdue, but posting old pictures reminded me I still had these around. Looks warm doesn’t it?

Snow Shots

More snow is on the way but here are a few from this past week.
