More than you need to know about the MLS SuperDraft

Unfortunately, I’m no longer in sunny Florida.

With the combine wrapped up, the anxious wait begins for the aspiring professional soccer players ahead of Thursday’s SuperDraft.

No two prognosticators will be able to tell you what exactly might play out on Thursday, and mock drafts are certainly going to be available in spades.

But to gear up, here’s a look at what’s out there and worthwhile in terms of information and learning about the prospects and everything needed – both mine and others out there.

A look at the U.S. U-20 camp

As I pointed out yesterday, big things are going on for the U.S. men’s youth teams. While the full national team has quietly begun training out in Arizona – and not California – a pair of U-18 and U-20 teams are spending a week in Ft. Lauderdale.

A brief look at the U.S. U-18 camp

Richie Williams, the recently appointed 18s coach, will marshal his players through the week’s camp which will be held in conjunction with the 20s.

Also included last is a U-19 team headed off to a Junior Cup tournament in Stuttgart, Germany. MLS-affiliated players (either pros or Academy) are bolded for easier viewing. Continue reading ‘A brief look at the U.S. U-18 camp’
